Features

Built for your wrist

Spoon runs on Apple Watch for real-time biometric data while you breathe, meditate, or drift to sleep.

Live Heart Rate

Real-time BPM from Apple Watch during every session. Track your average, high, and low across your history.

Companion Mode

Start a session from your iPhone. Your watch mirrors it in real-time, streaming heart rate data back to your phone.

Sleep Onset Detection

ML-powered detection on your watch catches the moment between waking and sleeping — the hypnagogic state.

Private by Design

Sessions never touch your Apple Fitness rings. Your data stays in a private database synced through iCloud.

Streaks & History

Track your daily practice streak. Review detailed session metrics — duration, heart rate, breathing patterns.

Playlists

Chain multiple exercises into a single session. Build your own routine and let it flow.

The Spoon Method

Capture the edge of dreams

Edison, Dali, and Einstein held an object while drifting off — when it fell, they woke at the boundary of consciousness. Spoon does this with technology.

How it works

Your Apple Watch monitors heart rate and motion in real-time using an on-device ML model. When you reach 60% sleep probability, a distinctive haptic wakes you at the hypnagogic state — the creative twilight between waking and sleeping.

1

Choose a breathing exercise to guide you toward sleep

2

Your watch analyzes heart rate variability and motion data

3

At 60% sleep probability, a haptic pattern gently wakes you

4

Capture the insight from the boundary of consciousness

Exercises

Breathe your way

From structured breathing protocols to silent meditation, with full control over timing and phases.

Wim Hof Method

Rapid breaths, timed retention, recovery cycles

Box Breathing

Equal inhale, hold, exhale, hold phases

4-7-8 Sleep

Dr. Weil's technique for falling asleep

Coherent Breathing

Balanced 5-second inhale and exhale

Meditation

Silent mindful timer, 1–60 minutes

Privacy Policy

Overview

Spoon is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your health and session data stays on your devices and in your private iCloud account. We do not operate servers, and we do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data.

Data We Collect

We collect no data. Spoon does not have analytics, tracking, or any server-side component. Specifically:

HealthKit

Spoon requests access to HealthKit to read heart rate data during sessions and to write mindful minutes. This data is processed entirely on-device. HealthKit data is never shared with third parties, and workout sessions are always discarded — they do not affect your Activity rings or exercise metrics.

Data Storage

Session history and metrics are stored locally on your device using CoreData and synced across your devices via your private iCloud account (CloudKit). This sync is end-to-end managed by Apple and not accessible to us.

Sleep Onset Detection

The Spoon sleep onset ML model runs entirely on your Apple Watch. Heart rate and motion data are analyzed in real-time on the device and are never transmitted externally.

Children's Privacy

Spoon is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
